Anyone wants to help me choose a new antivirus?

-My trial for norton is running out tomorrow and I need help choosing a new one. My operating system is windows 7 right now. My old desktop was windows xp os and I had avast! which was working very well until my desktop hard drive died out...lol.



Anyway, I was doing a little browsing and I even googled some free antiviruses for windows 7. The top antivirus was Microsoft Essentials Security I believe and number 3 was my previous one, avast! Since MES was number one, I looked for reviews of it and many people said it was pretty good and it deletes some downloaded files and such on the spot. Many people had lots of success for MES. Should I download it and give it a shot? Or should I switch back to avast! or a different antivirus?



I know every antivirus has it's flaws, I just want everyone's opinion :DMSE is a fine solution. Avast is also good. I'm not sure why Avast is #3. If you are comfortable with Avast, go with it. I didn't much like it myself, because of the annoying need to reregister every year and some of the crap with the sound effects, but MSE doesn't have any of that.Avast and Avira are the top free tested Anti-Virus...better than mse in comparison tests...
Avast still has a free section, and picked up stuff Mcrapfee let by and that chewed up and spit out microsoft security.
