Ok, what makes cyber bullies actually think their brave saying crap over the internet?

-I was cyberbullied on fanfiction.net forums

I told this chick/dude to stop treating me like an idiot in a respectful manner. No !! or capital letters. He/she proceed to respond saying I'm a butthurt idiot in denial with a pinchant for lying.

My message told them I wasn't interested in the show they liked, I told them I didn't care about being awesome, and that I didn't want to be in their fandom. I tell them I'm not going to tolerate being treated like crap and that if she/he proceeds to harrass me I'll have them reported. Then a bunch of other jerks start talkin sayin

1) telling me it's just the internet, the person who moderates the forums is never on ( it's quite obvious that I could go to the site managers and or to even someone even more authority then that), I need to go back to cutting myself( I know for fact I don't cut myself and I'm not depressed)

2) telling me I was thrown against a wall as a baby for standing up for myself. Like 'Oh you have no right to not take crap'

3) said I was a crybaby

I tried to report the person but the link was broken and no they aren't bothering me and I haven't gone back. What I'm wondering is what comes across people's minds that make them do this? What makes them think their all powerful that they think they can treat others like crap all because it's the internet? I'm beginning to think if anyone there was thrown against a wall it was them because it's like they suffer from a severe form of a superiority complex disorder with a heaping side of narcissism. It's interesting how people think they can treat others to the extent of no remorse because it's 'just' the internet. I'm not hurt I'm appalled teens would in general do this and yes, I know there are **** holes we just need to ignore but seriously. What happened to being nice and trying to just get along as best we can?The Internet is a massive gathering place for Trolls. They live in every corner, breed like roaches. They live just to mess with people. Typically if you ignore them then they go away.

Insecure ******* bully people online, that's what I think
They do it most likely because it is fun, because it is funny to them, my mom says why most of them do it is because they are so insecure about themselves they feel the need to pick on others. Ignore the ones on the internet they are not worth your time. If they are doing it to the point it needs to stop they could be arrested because it is illegal to cyber bully in 34 states. All they try to do is to bring that person down. They don't think of what could happen behind it, it could make that person upset, angry, cry, and most of the time it could make that person suicidal. If they were ever bullied they would know what it is like and never.. ever, bully again. That happened to me I have been bulled ever since 4th grade to 12th grade and that made me who I am today I never once ever bully anyone because I know what it is like to be bullied, picked on, teased and pushed around and I just put myself in there shoes it would hurt them just as bad as it hurt me. They will never understand, bullying is not a game. All bullies should think before they say something that cruel.
