Should I use an antivirus program on my Macbook Pro?

-I've heard that Macs are immune to viruses, but should I use an antivirus anyway, or would it be safe to not use one? They aren't immune to virus's and malware if someone is stupid and installs software from untrusted sources they can get compromised like anyone else.

You can still count the number of mac virus's by the handful that are in the wild but that's changing because more consumers and business's are using macs, ipads, iphones so the bad guys are turning their attention to Apple Computers

For now I don't think you need antivirus if you're very careful what sites you visit but in the future you may need it.Macs are not "immune" to viruses, so whoever told you that was misguided. There are viruses for Mac, but there aren't that many. Unless you consistently obtain questionable material you shouldn't have to worry about getting a virus.
Yes you should use a AV product...and MAC's do get viruses....here is one of the best free AV products that alot of MAC users are using..........

Short Answer: YES

Long Answer: Mac OS X has several viruses and there is always the chance of infection. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
You should only have to use one if you download "sketchy" material (potentially malicious)
They ARE NOT immune!

There are viruses built for Apples

I would rather be SAFE, then sorry.
Macs are not immune to viruses. I would use an antivirus to be safe.
