What is the best anti-virus protection?

-I have used McAfee but it wasn't great. I hear Norton is good, Kaspersky is good... what do you like best (even if it is not one just listed)?Snow Raver is correct.

However, I recommend Symantec for software protection against viruses.

And Malware Bytes for malware protection.



See links below:Literally all Anti-Virus software will be fine. As long as you update the virus database weekly, and run a scan 1-2 times a week you will be fine.



I use AVG Free 9.0 on my computer. There's a paid version that provides Phishing and other security features, but all of which are not needed. If you get the AVG Free version, you will be more than safe.

Update it often, and again, run scans whenever you're not using the computer.



Just remember, it is not a smart practice to have more than one Anti-Virus to be installed on your computer, because it's easier for viruses to slip by. When more than one is installed, the programs are kind of "competing" with one another. Hard to explain, just uninstall McAfee once AVG is on, or whatever you're using.

The best free tested Anti-Virus are Avast and Avira...compared to these mcafee, AVG and norton are junk (matousec.com) its also wise to have SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes for Spyware detection and removal...they work well together what one may miss the other can catch as they use different scanning methods...
After many years of using free A/V and anti malware I some months ago installed a Norton trial Internet security 2011on my daughters and granddaughters computers.I always felt Norton was a huge resource hog but the latest version was vastly improved. So much so that after three months I have installed it on my computer which seems considerably more responsive. My choice now until something better comes along.
The best virus protection is an educated user.
none, its a waste of system resources. i just use a router for its firewall and don't visit gnarly sites or open pop-ups.
