How do I set a password on my computer?

-I have a windows vista computer. I really want to set up a password on it, so that every time i open it after it rests for a while (every time I open it after the yellow light changes to green...) I have to type in a password. How do I do this?1. Open the Control Panel (All Items View).

2. Click on the User Accounts icon.

3. Click on the Create a password for your account link.

4. Type in a New password.

5. Type in the same password again to Confirm new password.

6. If you want a password hint, Type a password hint in. If you do not want a password hint, then you can skip that field. Remember that anyone using the computer will be able to see the password hint.

7. Click on the Create Password button.

8. Your User Account is now Password protected. (See screenshot below)

Also, make sure you use a strong password. Strong password guidelines:

I think it's impossible to hav a password on a windows computer. But if it is possible, u would probobly hav to be an admin. If u r the admin then go to admin settings. It will be in secruity. Usually if u hav a password it will only work if ur computer either went to sleep or is logged off

Hope this helps.
Start off by getting rid of vista its basically Microsofts virus testing OS lol but really it fails
Control Panel > Add or remove accounts > User accounts > Manage accounts.

Click your account and set the pass ..
