What do you know about this phone scam?

-I was eating dinner when my dad handed me the phone, someone started speaking in a rough Indian accent.

"Hello ma'am, I was wondering about people in your household reporting browser complaints, and..."

I didn't get what he was saying so after a while I handed the phone over to my dad again. I asked him what it was about afterwards, and he said it was a scammer trying to give our computer a virus. He said that he changed the story and said he was a Microsoft employee, and he was going to talk us step-by-step to give our computer a free check up... I was wondering does anybody have any information about this scam or have you been scammed like this before?who knows what those crazy Indian computer geeks do lol (no offense,I have Indian friends)

Maybe he dialed a wrong number? You know...it's easy to get a wrong line when you call overseas.I don't think it's possible t give a computer virus through a phone conversation.
Probably you find this person on Scampond, note that sometimes scammers use multiple names but the story line is same.
Haven't gotten a call like that but I do know for a fact that all phone scams have the same objective. They want your info and money.
